I did spend a lot of time reading about the newbie mistakes and common issues and that helped a lot. I suggest you buy a few upgrades which I did buy and I will explain why:

Fit the assembly perfectly, and so far works great!

Relatively easy replacement. Worked very well and was able to get me up and printing in short order.

Everything plugged in and worked great. My original one got clogged with filament backup and this one has been prefect so far after days of printing. All wires are ready to plug in and the hardest part was removing the hot glue they used to keep the original wires in. 2 people found this helpful

This was my first 3D printer. I’ve been using it pretty consistently for about 6 months now and it is absolutely exceptional at the market value! Take care when assembling and take a moment to research the basics in 3D printing and this machine will perform nicely for you. Having a properly level bed is important and adjusting this printer isn’t too hard. Mine prints very well and other than the first time experience mistake i made as i learned about supports and ending up with spaghetti strings and a failed print, this printer had no problem printing any file I attempted. Every print comes out sharp and clean. After a few months the only problem i encountered was the thermistor wearing out and causing the printer to detect thermal runaway and safely shutting down. It was a cheap part to replace and not so hard to install and get back to printing. I am still satisfied with this printer enough to be content for some time to come before stepping up to bigger and better. Also, or lastly, the Ender 3’s printing bed is a great size and a lot of available print files will fit the reaches of this printer. Excellent machine for under 2 bills!

This was purchased for my teenage son for Christmas and he loves it. We had some minor issues at set-up but he figured it out. He is using the printer regularly for things from airplane models to functional electronics storage/holders. It is relatively quiet and does not take up a lot of space. I am very happy with this purchase.

My first 3d printer…and it’s awesome! Finally took the plunge into 3d printing and settled on the Creality Ender 3 as a seemingly good starting point, and I’m glad I did! This is a genuine creality product for those wondering. This is a newer/revised/updated model too. I didn’t have any alignment issues when building it like I’ve heard some of the older ones have. This one has an injection molded ABS power supply cover (older ones were 3d printed), and the bed isn’t set up in a weird trapezoid, all sides were square so it was easy to level. Again, this was my first 3d printer, so I can’t compare it to anything else, but I’m loving it so far. I did upgrade the extruder assembly to an all metal one, but that’s the only thing I’ve modified so far (though I do plan on installing some x/y dampers in the near future). Thingiverse has a lot of upgrades you can print yourself, so far I’ve printed the fan mod that directs air more directly to the hot end. For the price I have zero complaints. Assembly took under an hour. If you can put together a piece of IKEA furniture, you can assemble this printer. The instructions are simple, and if you require more help there are plenty of YouTube videos with assembly walk throughs. I’ve only printed with hatchbox PLA so far, but will try out some other materials soon (namely gizmo dorks TPU and some hatchbox ABS…after I build an enclosure).

This is a great beginner printer! I was able to put this together very easily with YouTube tutorials. The assembly guide was way to confusing to begin so I followed the advice of others and went to YouTube. I had difficulty the first Autohome run, I had my x and z connectors switched, which was an easy enough fix. YouTube wasn’t a help with trouble shooting but I would highly suggest Reddit for advice and suggestions. The first test print was perfect. Then I bought dcode files on Etsy and tried to print directly from the dcode provided, it was pretty crappy and was all lines(Batman). So I used the file converting software you can load from the provided thumb drive. I converted an STL to dcode and it was PERFECT(Deadpool)!!! This is the only printer we have tried but I would highly suggest this for beginners who are clueless like me

This was my fourth 3D printer and by far the best out of box experience. It is easily assembled in less than 30 minutes. Leading to printing a design from the SD Card. This was the only hiccup. The cheap SD Card could not be read by the machine but worked fine on the PC. When I used a good quality SD card and put only the sample models in the root of the card it worked fine. The sample prints worked perfectly. The default profile in CURA 4.8 produces outstanding prints.

Pretty awesome printer. I have the Max as well and that one is a beast. Definitely Recommend. Not sure why thickness and warmth are on here but what the heck 5 stars for both.
